Dear Friends,

We are a month into the Equipping Our Little Corner of the Kingdom Capital Campaign. I want to offer my thanks to all those who have helped with and attended the campaign meetings thus far. I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to share the vision with parishioners and to hear your thoughts and questions at those meetings. These gatherings will continue for a few more weeks. Hopefully, you will be able to attend one of them. I am also happy to meet individually with you if you would prefer. Throughout all of this, I am touched by your generosity.

This is where we are today:

With the Hall Fund Donations from prior years and what has been donated to this point we have on hand 1.2 million dollars.

An additional 1.3 million has been pledged which will be paid out over the next three years. For a total of 2.5 million toward our 4-million-dollar goal for Priority One of the Campaign.

Based on your support, the Pastoral Council decided last week to ask RDG to start the engineering drawings needed for the construction phase of the Priority One projects.

Reaching the 4-million-dollar goal requires all of us in the parish to do whatever we can. If every family in the parish gave an average of two thousand dollars a year toward the campaign for the next three years for a total of six thousand, we would hit our goal of four million dollars. I know that is well beyond what many of you can give. Still, please give what you can. Some of our parishioners can do much more and together we can achieve the vision. As one of our parishioners pointed out, if you break the goal into weekly bites, it is only 38 dollars a week. About what many spend on coffee for the week.

We are blessed at Cabrini with buildings that others built and paid for and we are able to use. Now, it is our turn to make improvements for our own use and for future parishioners to use. If you have not yet turned in a pledge card, I encourage you to do so. It will help the Steering Committee in making decisions for the next steps.

Peace,

Fr. Damian
