Father Damian Zuerlein

Father Damian Zuerlein joined St. Frances Cabrini in 2015, after leading St. Columbkille Parish in Papillion, Nebraska, since 2004. Ordained in 1981, he served in several parishes as an associate before becoming pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe in 1990.

Fr. Damian is originally from Columbus, Nebraska, and is the oldest of six children. He received a BA in Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas and his Master of Divinity from St. Paul Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He learned Spanish at the Spanish Language Institute in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Fr. Damian has also done post-graduate work in spirituality and counseling at Creighton University and the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Fr. Damian also serves on the Archdiocesan Finance Council, the Priest Personnel Board, the College of Consultors to the Archbishop and is Spiritual Director for the Urban Christians Encounter Christ movement in Omaha.

Deacon Doug Lenz

Doug was ordained a permanent deacon in April of 2017 and immediately began serving as deacon for St. Frances Cabrini Parish. Now as Pastoral Associate, he focuses on Sacramental preparation, assists with faith formation programs and directs the parish outreach to those who are homebound and are in care facilities. Doug utilizes his Spiritual Gifts by listening, encouraging, praying with and for others, and by using his leadership and Pastoral skills to build up the Body of Christ.

Prior to joining the team at St. Frances Cabrini, Doug spent 25 years in the human services field, most recently as an Executive Director of a statewide nonprofit agency.

He has a Master’s degree in counseling from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Doug is married to Ann and together they have 4 children: Madeline, Peter, Tommy and Johnny and 1 grandchild, Noah.

Deacon Larry Mruz

Larry was ordained a permanent deacon in October of 2008. He came to St. Frances Cabrini from St. Francis Assisi in 2016. He has spent over 14 years as a volunteer at The Stephen Center, a homeless shelter, as an overnight supervisor.

Larry’s ministry is rooted in prayer, especially for the sick and hurting. He fills in as needed in parish programs and events, conducts vigil services and assists at funerals.

A graduate from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Larry retired after 37 years as a US Postal Service manager. He married Joy in 1978, and they have one son, Alex.

Ann Lenz

Ann joined the Ministerial Team in 2017 when she accepted a newly created Facilitator of Disciple Formation position at St. Frances Cabrini. In this role, she develops and implements faith formation opportunities with the goal of encouraging parishioners to surrender their lives more fully to Jesus and His great love.

Ann uses her Spiritual Gifts by inviting, welcoming, encouraging and challenging – confident that God is always inviting us to more and that Love transforms us into courageous, joy filled disciples and an authentic Christian community.

Ann is a former high school and college theology teacher and has a Master’s degree in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University where she also earned certificates in Spiritual Direction and Directed Retreats. She is married to Deacon Doug and together they have 4 children, Madeline, Peter, Tommy and Johnny and 1 grandchild, Noah.

Cathy Beeler

Cathy joined St. Frances Cabrini in 2015.  She has nearly 40 years of experience in media and communications in the Omaha area.  An avid photographer, she is often found photographing various events and services or trying to find interesting angles in our historic church.

She is active in the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Prayer and Love Does Ministries and is a member of the Liturgy Committee at St. Frances Cabrini.

Cathy uses her professional and spiritual gifts to communicate the word of God on internet platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and the Cabrini website. She also uses her gifts to design the Annual Report, weekly bulletins and printed materials.

Cathy is married to Chris and together they share 2 children Seth and Megan and 5 delightful grandchildren, Ruby, Peyton, Simon, Aiden and Lulu.

Deacon Chuck

Deacon Chuck joined Fr. Damian when he stepped up to coordinate the closure of the St. Patrick’s property. That segued into assisting Father to transform  the Christ Child Center from what it was to the Cabrini Parish Center which is enjoyed by the parish today.

Deacon Chuck was asked to join the Ministerial Team where he uses his Spiritual Gifts to provide strategy, project management, building maintenance and pastoral ministry.

Chuck is married to Susan and are the proud host parents of six German Exchange Students and six host grandchildren.  He retired from Union Pacific Railroad’s Marketing and Sales Department in 2010.

Jan Bode

Jan began her professional career after college as a self-employed, freelance Court Reporter. She worked in various positions, including 14 years serving as Finance Director at St. Columbkille Parish, before becoming the Business Manager at St. Frances Cabrini in 2015.

Jan uses her Spiritual Gifts of administration and service to manage the parish office, supervise the volunteer receptionists, Mass Intention and Sacramental certificate requests, and maintain the parish database among the many other tasks as needed throughout the parish. Her love of people and willingness to help in any way she can is the most fulfilling aspect of her job.

Jan and her husband, Steve, have three children, Erin, Molly and Alex, and two sweet little grandchildren, Weston and Lillie – who live in Arizona – which is where you will find Jan if she is not in Nebraska.
