Holy Orders is the sacrament by which men are ordained to be of service to the Church as deacons, priests or bishops. While all of the baptized are “ordained” to a life of service and commitment to Jesus Christ through their Baptism, the Church calls upon some of its members to serve the community in a unique way through the Sacrament of Holy Orders.

Both the diaconate and the priesthood require a considerable amount of training and confirmation of their call by the larger church.
